Ha! So my previous attempt at blogging my slimming world adventures lasted a whole month! I think i managed to stick with slimming world until about my birthday in june when it all went pear-shaped and my life got exciting!
Since then, i've changed jobs, and bought and refurbished our new marital home. It took us 6 months from start to finish, but we're more or less done now! We had our christmas dinner in our new house with both families, so that was awesome!
Now my life has settled down again, the new job has settled down and the house is in a state that I can start cooking things from scratch again. The downside, however, is that I've put on any weight i lost last year.
SO, it's a new year, so I figured it'd be a good time to start again! Hopefully it'll last a bit longer this time! I don't really have a goal date, i'd just like to lose about 3-3.5st. It's doable!
My official weigh in day will be a friday, however i'm using today as a dress rehearsal to get me back into the swing of things! So, today's menu of the day is below:
Breakfast
scrambled egg & beans
Lunch
tomato & herb pasta n sauce
waferthin ham
28g cheddar cheese grated (hexA)
dinner
not decided yet, but something with chicken I think!
snacks
aldi low fat yogurt 5.5syns
Looks ok, and I seem to be pretty full up so far (had lunch about an hour ago!) I'll be doing my shopping tomorrow to stock up on lots of lovely SW goodies to snack on NOM! I'm really looking forward to getting back into it now.
I've got a little bit of competition at work too. We're all following different plans, i'm on SW, one is on WW, one on complan, and the other is doing the bootcamp programme at her local gym, so it'll be good to see who sees the biggest losses.

Day 34
Yesterday was a good day! Work wasn't too bad, despite being on the late shift and not finishing till 5.30. Hubby's friend from america is over for a week or so, so last night we all trooped off to the pub, and had a great night! Thankfully, because i'm on the later shift, I didn't need to get up at the crack of dawn for work, so I'm not that tired today.
Anyway, the plan for the rest of the week is:
Wednesday - Curry night (OH NOES!)- I think i'm going to have to take a flexi syn day that day. I haven't had a curry for AGES, and having an eat all you like buffet in front of me with chasni and korma and garlic naan on it REALLY isn't going to let my willpower win. So i'll admit defeat just now, and move on!
Friday - "supper club" At our house - This is good as I get to cook the dinner and know what's in it! What's bad is that i've been told they'll only come if I make my sticky toffee pudding sundae. BUMMER! Still, it's weigh day, and if that's the only treat I have, and I use light skooshy cream for my own, and only use a teeny bit of cake, it'll limit the damage.... everything in moderation *nods*
So yeah, Yesterday's menu:
Breakfast:
28g shredded wheat bitesize (HexB)
175ml skimmed milk (HexB)
banana
Lunch:
SW quiche (0.5 syn for pasta n sauce, 0.5 HexA for cheese)
pineapple
strawberries
muller light
Dinner:
chicken stuffed with ex light soft cheese with garlic & herbes, wrapped in bacon, served on mashed potato & mixed veg (2 syns for cheese, 0.5 syn for 3 tbs skimmed milk in mash) - amaaaazing!
2 mini meringues (2 syns)
25g light skooshy cream (2 syns)
handful of raspberries
Snacks:
Jumbo BBQ snack a jack (2 syns)
total syns: 9
I actually can't get over just how YUMMY that chicken was for dinner! Who said diet food had to be tasteless!?!

Day 33
Sunday was a bit of a "bleh" day. I didn't feel great and it took me a fair while to cheer up, but I got there in the end! We went for a wander around an antiques shop, which ended up quite fruitful for hubby's Broons/Oor Wullie collection! When we left there, because we hadn't had any breakfast, we were STARVING. We decided we'd go to a little cafe that does grilled breakfasts (they're AMAZING) and use low fat sausages etc. Unfortunately they'd closed by the time we got there :( so we went into the spar next door and the best they could offer was some cooked chicken legs! So we started driving home and popped into morrisons on the way. Oh my GOODNESS! Thank the lordy for the morrisons salad bar! It was filled with hard boiled eggs, dressing-less salad and oil-less pasta salads! Followed by a muller yog and some pineapple! We had a great picnick in the carpark!
So yesterday's food was slightly better than Saturdays!
Breakfast:
Doesn't happen on a sunday.
Lunch:
2 hard boiled eggs
lettuce
tomatoes
sweetcorn
pasta
peppers
mozzerella (hexA)
Muller light
Pineapple
Dinner:
SW KFC chicken drummers (this was Fantastic! It was so much better than I ever thought it would be! let me know if you want the recipe!) (HexB for breadcrumbs)
sweet potato wedges
1 tbsp BBQ sauce (1 syn)
1 mini meringue (1 syn)
12.5g light skooshy cream (1 syn)
handful of frozen raspberries
snacks:
Sugar free raspberry jelly and Muller light (1 syn)
Total Syns: 4
So made up for the splurge on Saturday! *phew*

Day 32
I was doing so well on Saturday! Then we got invited round to a friends house at the last minute, and were fed all things nice and synful, but I only had 8.5 syns left! *sigh* I decided that I would just nibble on a few things, but it was difficult. In the end I went over my syns by 9, but that's salvagable!

Week 4 - weigh in
well, despite my binge at the start of the week, I've managed to limit the damage with a nice loooooong walk and trying to keep my syns to a minimum. This week I spectacularly.... Stayed the same. *phew*
Ok, new slate today, I *will* lose this week! I plan to incorporate some more exercise into my week and eat more superfree foods than I have been recently.
I've entered the 4 week challenge on Minimins, and I pledged to lose 8lbs this month. That should take me over the 1 stone mark and into my second!
*positive thoughts*

Day 28 - The bad just got badder....
Yesterday was the most stressful day i've had since the day before my wedding. As a result, again, my eating went to shit. I did try to curb it as much as I could, and didn't go as far over as I thought I had, once I counted it all up.
On monday night, some cretins decided that it'd be MEGA LOLS to throw eggs at our neighbour's windows. These windows happen to be RIGHT ABOVE OUR DRIVEWAY. Yep, you guessed it, my car got the brunt of it. The eggs appeared to have bounced off the windows and onto my car. No one thought of coming to my door (I was in bed but not sleeping, although I didn't hear it happening) and tell me that my car had a nice coating of scrambled egg. Instead it was ignored until I went out to drive the car to work in the morning. I immediately knew what had happened, and looked up at her windows where my neighbour was standing, she KNEW it had happened, and KNEW i'd go out to my car at that time and just *shrugged* and said "it was a bunch of wee boys" - I didn't engage in a conversation cos I was, by this point, ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS. Had I *known* I could have made time before I had to go to work, or even gone to sleep last night, to go out and clean it. Instead, it was left to harden and start to corrode the paint. THANKS! I didn't have time to clean it at that point so I drove to work, explained my situation and took a half day in the afternoon. This meant that it was left for a further 4 hours until I could leave work. I cleverly thought to take some warm soapy water and a sponge down from the kitchen when I left at lunch time to clean off as much as I could. I then got a text from hubby's best mate suggesting that we should go to lunch to "calm me down" - he's a star. I popped round to his house (round the corner from my work), picked him up and went to the best car wash we know of. Then popped off to Ketchup. Oh BOY did I need that! I couldn't stomach eating anything other than jelly that morning, so I was hungry. By this point I knew my car would be *ok*, but hadn't had a chance to check the extent of the damage yet, so I was slightly more relaxed. We went back to his house and he (having every single possible car related item/product IN THE WORLD) buffed out the marks that were left on the paintwork. I owe him BIGTIME.
Last night I was too shattered to type all this so I just went to bed. This is what I ate:
Breakfast:
S/F jelly + muller light (1.5 syns)
frozen strawberries & pineapple (so amazingly yummy!)
Lunch:
sweet potato wedges (approx 1 tbs olive oil used to cook - HexB)
1 tbs Sweet chilli sauce (1.5 syn)
chicken "arriba arriba burger" without the bun:
1 chicken
1 slice of cheese (hex A)
lettuce
peppers
onions
tomatoes
1 tbs guacamole (1.5 syns)
Dinner:
marshall's cheesey pasta
steam fresh brocolli, carrots, peas & corn
Snacks:
1 small pack Mikado (1/2 syn each x 20pk = 10 syns - oops!)
packet BBQ snack a jacks (5.5 syns)
Total syns: 20 syns
I'm now in damage limitation mode and made sure i'm only using 4 syns today, which means that i only need to save 5.5 syns tomorrow to even myself back up again after monday's attrocious splurge!
